SUMMARY:Girl Power
DESCRIPTION:This new course is uniquely tailored for girls and is aimed at building confidence and developing self-esteem in a variety of physical activities.\nGirls can sometimes lack self belief simply because they have never been given the opportunity to play and practise equally.\nGood self-esteem gives us the courage to try new things\, the power to believe in ourselves and the confidence to make healthy choices throughout life. \nThe mornings will be separated into three sections: \n*  Ball skills and sports knowledge focusing on spatial awareness\, trajectory skills and hand eye co-ordination.\n*  Dance routines exploring individuality\, creativity and spontaneity within dance and creative movement.\n*  Fitness and health awareness looking at diet and exercise and encouraging a positive body image. \nEach session will finish with a yoga inspired stretch and cool down. \nEvery girl will receive a club folder at the start of the course which includes a skill practise diary\, fitness incentives\, yoga cards. \nA lot of girls are interested in ‘Girl Power’ but are nervous as this is different and new\, perhaps do not have friends on the course or you would like to see how it fits in around the busy family schedule! Of course\, I get this.\nIf you daughter would like to try the first week there is now the option to attend for a small charge of £5. If they decide they would like to commit to the course the £5 will be discounted from the 7 week cost of £50.\nI hope this helps.\n\nPlease note only those girls who book the 7 week course will receive the club folder which includes course info\, fitness diary and incentives\, yoga cards and choreography tips and routines.\n\nMinchinhampton Youth Centre\nSaturday September 29th\, October 6th\, 13th\n& November 3rd\, 10th\, 17th\, 24th\n9.15am-10.30am – Ages 5-7\n10.45am-12pm – Ages 8-11\n£50 per child\n£28 per child (4 weeks in November)\n15 places available on each course\nParents are kindly requested to not be present during the session\, thank you.

DESCRIPTION:GIRL POWER is a new creation of Dazzle and a unique opportunity for your daughter.\nTailored specifically for girls\, the courses aim to enhance the social-emotional well-being\, physical confidence and self-esteem of girls through team sports\, dance and yoga.\nMany girls need a different environment to be allowed to try new skills\, express themselves creatively and grow in confidence.  A space to develop confidence to be themselves\, to be healthy\, to try new things\, to respect themselves and respect others.\nGirl Power aims to provide this place. \nThe class starts with a fun warm up game to get the mind and body ready before moving onto the principal sport activity.\nGirl Power this Spring will focus on the basic skills\, rules and positions of Hockey and Parkour and when the weather allows\, we will take advantage of the Astro Turf facilities and practise these new skills outside.\nAfter a short snack break the girls will put on their dancing feet to work on an upbeat dance routine. SUMMARY:Boyz Dance Club
DESCRIPTION:BOYZ DANCE CLUB\nA boys only dance course for young boys aged 5-11. Exploring creative and dynamic routines\, getting outdoors\, using up energy and providing a physical and creative experience. \nBoys need their own space to feel safe to express themselves\, their emotions\, energy\, dynamics and their creativity. There are lots of boys who want to dance and Dazzle feels very passionate about making this opportunity for them! \n“My son loves dancing but he won’t go to a dance class?” To be honest\, I don’t blame them. As a dance teacher\, this is what I hear the most from parents\, frustrated because they want to provide an outlet for their son to learn some new skills doing something he enjoys. \nI aim to make Dazzles dance classes an active\, non-gender\, athletic and fresh experience for everyone. But peer pressure and pre-conceptions from such a young age are just too hard to battle against. As most dance clubs are full of girls they\, therefore\, cater to the majority who attend\, influencing the dance styles\, music and costume choices. I have been guilty of this in the past. Most boys will simply not walk through the door when they see a blur of pink and Little Mix blaring from the music system! Just as we see the benefits of girls training and competing separately in sport\, boys also need their own space to explore dance. Get them on a football pitch or a park\, use props such as basketballs\, swords or scooters. \nOver the years there have been inspirations and role models who have made it acceptable\, accessible and cool for boys and men to dance\, Gene Kelly\, Fred Astaire\, Billy Elliott\, Diversity\, George Sampson and Strictly Come Dancing. Boys love the competition\, the judges\, the creativity\, the costumes and the dancing on Strictly!  But they also see the skill\, the physical strength\, the competitive spirit and the respect the men gain. \n“Dance is a physical and athletic activity requiring great skill\, strength\, and agility. Sounds like an ideal fit for energetic boys… so where are they?? In general\, the current perception is that dance is not a “manly” activity. Men who dance must be in top physical form but the beauty and elegance masks the blood\, sweat\, and tears it seems we like to see from men in our culture. Therefore\, the grittier athletic activities are favoured for boys\, while dance is considered a better pursuit for girls. DESCRIPTION:The ‘Dazzle Weekend Clubs’ are fun sessions for ages 5-11 exploring themes through drama\, craft and movement activities and team games. Fun\, creative\, educational (but don’t tell the kids!) workshops aimed at encouraging laughter\, confidence\, team work\, individuality and a joy of learning. \nThe amazing Unicorns & Rainbows Weekend Club will involve lots of colourful games and fun including making your own rainbow unicorn to compete in a Unicorn Gymkhana\, a treasure hunt for a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow and a Unicorn puppet show!\nSaturday May 8th\n11am-1pm\nThe Market House in Minchinhampton \nThere are two gorgeous Dazzle Unicorn & Rainbow Activity packs available to continue the creativity and imagination at home! \nhttps://dazzleworkshops.co.uk/product/unicorn-rainbows-activity-pack/ \nAll activities are social distanced and Covid-19 measures in place within a Covid secure venue.
